Punk begun in the 1974 as a raucous, guerilla revolution opposed to common current of pop music. Rock ensambles alike Green Day, the Offspring, and Rancid boosted punk music back in the mid-1990's. This time the blend of rapid, upfront rock music with sweet-sounding popular melodies hang around on the MTV. Today, soi-disant punk pop is the main part in the world of mainstream pop music. These ten record albums are fine starting points to get to know punk pop.
1. blink-182 - Enema of the State
In blink-182's endless endeavour to diminish all grown ups in the locality, this record album featured a person clothed as an enema au pair on the booklet. The music inside is teenage and never-to-be-forgotten with the monumental hit single “Dumpweed.”
2. The Donnas - Spend the Night
Girls can perform punk pop, too, and this record album is an abundant proof of the fact. The group styled themselves after the rock band Ramones in New York City with each member going by the name Donna. Download Pressure to listen to it.
3. Good Charlotte - Young and the Hopeless
Good Charlotte with Paul Thomas blasted into the top ten of the popular music album chart with this set. It's full with stories of university and difficult mothers. The smashing #1 song is “Lifestyles Of the Rich and Famous.”
4. Green Day - American Idiot
Later fading from their 90's peak of popularity, Green Day retreated to the studio to mix punk's 1st rock opera. Though the band was nervous about their fan's reaction to Dearly Beloved, it turned out to be a UK punk rock classic climbing several charts and gaining an award for Best Punk Album of 2004.
5. The Lemonheads - Ceiling Fan in My Spoon
