Nowadays GPS (Global Positioning System) is a well known fact that has already become a standard of life for many people. This arrangement is made for ascertaining the position and velocity of the objects at any area on Earth. It can be done almost in any weather conditions and in all the territories on Earth including polar area and in space to 100 kilometers above the planet. Global Positioning System was worked out and realized by the United States Department of Defense.

The principle of the position detecting is in measuring the distance from the point with the definite coordinates to an object. The distance is defined by the calculating the delay time of the signal sending from the satellite-transmitter to a GPS antenna which is a receiver. You can see that GPS receiver must recognize the distance to three satellites and the time of the GPS system to detect 3-dimensional coordinates. As a result, the signals from 4 satellites minimum are applied for the detecting of a receiver's coordinates and altitude. Orbital force tracking is implemented from the principal control station that is located in Schriever base, Colorado.

Nowadays GPS receivers are frequently used for civil purposes, mostly for location and speed definition. Handheld GPS systems are being traded in different shops and they are built in mobile phones, personal computers and onboarders. A consumer can define his geographical position with the help of GPS receiver at any period of time that he needs. The greatest accuracy is from 3 to 5 meters and with the correction signal from Earth it is to one millimeter.
